August has been a month full of transitions; much like the leaves, life is changing.
It is no secret that I cling to other peoples’ words. F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” What a pleasant thought! I am incredibly eager for the start of a new season, and I know I’m not the only one feeling this way. I recently transferred to a new college, so I feel especially drawn to Fitzgerald’s words.
There’s this idea that each day is a new opportunity to have a fresh start; however, we all seem to struggle in taking the first step to make that transition. The truth is we’re in a world that is ever-changing, and we all are forced to be in a constant state of adaptation! As my girl Taylor Swift sings, “Today is never too late to be brand new.”
As we are starting a new semester (again!), stress is guaranteed to sneak up on us. This is just a friendly reminder that life is full of good things, even when it feels overwhelming. Take these words to heart:
- “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
- “There is no other land; there is no other life but this.” ― Henry David Thoreau
- “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt
Happy reading, pals!
